EURO GUNS BLAZING

June 2008

London-based international television distribution company Cineflix International is proud to announce another batch of hefty European deals.

Makedonia TV in Greece has shipped in a bumper cargo from the Cineflix stable and beyond – almost 100 hours worth. The programmes include Mayday: Air Disaster Series 5, Cold Blood Series 1, Huge Moves Series 1, 2 and 3, Zero Hour Series 3, Trapped Series 1, Birth Stories Series 1 – 5 and the 3 hour special, Mayday: Air Disaster, Special.

Cold Blood is the brand new (10×60) factual drama which brings forensic science to life by combining the thrill of a mystery with the visceral experience of true crime drama – currently airing on Five in the UK. Huge Moves (3×60) involves teams of movers tackling almost impossible feats of engineering while trying to move colossal structures, produced by Windfall Films.

Further up north three major broadcasters in Belgium have also made volume investments in some of CID’s most recent programming launches.

SBS has licensed both series of Colin & Justin’s Home Heist, Kim’s Rude Awakenings, where Kim Woodburn from hit show ‘How Clean Is Your House’ is determined to stamp out the offensive behavior from compulsive lateness to mountains of laundry…. But can she truly transform these innocents of etiquette? And will they be up to snuff for Kim’s ultimate challenge? The channel has also gone for Cold Blood and Paradise Lost, a show that presents eight, real-life tales of foreign dreams that became bone-chilling nightmares overnight, capturing what it’s like to be in the wrong place at the wrong time… And a long way from home.

Vitaya will also be screening series 2+3 of Weddings SOS, the first two series of Psychic Investigators and both Animal House and Animal Rescue.

Finally RTL Belgium has also gone for Experimental, a series that tackles every imaginable branch of science in an approachable way – hard facts made fun through oddball experiments

Kate Llewellyn Jones, Sales Manager of these territories at Cineflix International said of this latest achievement: ‘Our returning clients and multiple volume deals are conclusive evidence of the importance of consistent high quality programming.’

Background A growing distributor of factual entertainment, Cineflix International distributes more than 700 hours of programming to 150 broadcasters worldwide. The programmes include select third-party projects and original programmes by Cineflix, a dynamic, independent television production company with a growing catalogue of history, science, documentary and lifestyle programs viewed by audiences in more than 50 countries.
