PRIME-TIME US TITLE
Cineflix International announced today that it has secured its first ever U.S. prime-time network programme with Border Security USA. The 13×60 hour blockbuster series, which first aired on ABC in the United States as Homeland Security, features unprecedented access to the US Department of Homeland Security.
The deal, brokered with Australia’s Seven Network as owners of the original format, Border Security: Australia’s Front Line , is part of 100 hours of acquired programming recently added to the Cineflix International catalogue.
“To have both the original series which has been so successful and the US network format of Border Security is a real coup. And I’m thrilled to be adding to our returning series as it puts us in a great position to offer the volume that so many International broadcasters are looking for”, said Diane Rankin, Head of Acquisitions for Cineflix International.
Created in late 2008 to increase the company’s library of acquired programming from leading international producers and programme makers, the acquisition division is overseen by *Cineflix International *Managing Director Paul Heaney.
Other newly acquired programming announced by the company today include series 5 of Animal House and series 2 and 3 of Animal Rescue produced by Imagination Television in New Zealand, for a catalogue total of 57 and 45 episodes respectively. Also on the new acquisitions slate is the 4th series of Medical Emergency now at 70 episodes, the second series of Zoo Tales now at 13 episodes, and the second and third series of Surf Patrol now at 31 episodes total, all coming out of Australia’s Seven Network.
