DEALS ROLL IN
Cineflix International has Mip TV firmly in its sights with an all-new line up of shows produced for UK, US and Canadian broadcasters with sales already rolling in.
First is Eat Yourself Sexy, a 13×30 series starring the UK’s nutrition sensation Gillian McKeith. The You Are What You Eat star will help participants get their groove back by prescribing an eight-week regimen of diet, discipline, and denial that’s guaranteed to make them feel sexy again.
The show has sex appeal already, having been picked up across Scandinavia with MTV3 in Finland, TV4 in Sweden and TV3 in Norway all going for the finished version with interest from all parties in producing a local format version.
Then comes BBC1 commission The Unsellables the hot new property show that helps desperate owners sell their ‘unsellable’ homes. Packed with practical advice and tips, the 20×30 minutes series is hosted by Sofie Allsopp and has been pre-sold to diginet UKTV.
The format, originally produced for Canada and re-versioned for the US market, is now licensed and produced in the UK for the BBC and is one of the top 10 shows on HGTV in both markets. The series is set to air in early May.
Other shows on the Cineflix International slate include the 6×60 show, Human Prey (also known as Eaten Alive). Recounting bone chilling attacks by some of the world’s deadliest predators, the series presents the harrowing true stories of people who were attacked by wild animals…and lived to tell the tale.
Then another BBC show Animals at Work, a 26×30 minutes series that introduces family viewers to the amazing world of animals with jobs. The series airs on BBC1 and CBBC in the UK. Hosted by John Barrowman, star of Doctor Who, Torchwood and BBC and BBC One’s hit talent show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, the series travels the globe in search of the most remarkable working animals on the planet.
Then finally Austin Stevens Adventures 12×60 follows celebrated herpetologist and photographer Austin Stevens gearing up for some of his most challenging adventures to date as his search for the world’s most fascinating animals takes him around the globe and through the toughest terrain on the planet.
Each mission sees Austin search out the deadliest, most venomous and rarest beasts on earth. Whether he’s tracking wild hyenas in the Ethiopian highlands, coming face-to-face with some of the deadliest snakes on the planet, fishing with grizzly bears or practicing the ancient art of shark calling in the South Pacific, Austin will stop at nothing to get close enough for the perfect photo.
